Flares

John Zink multi point ground flaresMulti-Point Ground Flares
Low Radiation and Maximum Smokeless Performance. The LRGO multi-point ground flare (MPGF) has become the design of choice for operators who desire a flare system that can provide high smokeless capacities and combustion efficiency in a flare design that minimizes visual impact to the surrounding community. The LRGO flare is designed with staging and ignition systems to ensure safe, short, smokeless flames are maintained over the full operating range of the flare.

John Zink Steam-Assisted FlaresSteam-Assisted Flares
Safe, Economical And Smokeless. John Zink's steam-assisted flare solutions use advanced, simplified steam delivery and special noise control technologies to maximize smokeless performance efficiencies and reduce the impact of flaring.

Their state-of-the-art Steamizer® XP™ minimizes smoke and reduces steam consumption compared to traditional steam flare solutions. It uses 30% less steam for smoke suppression during flaring operations than traditional technologies. Its innovative primary steam/air eduction and secondary air entrainment techniques result in an increased smokeless capacity of 40% for a given steam flow rate. Other steam-assisted solutions include the Steamizer HSA and QS™ flare tips.

John Zink Enclosed Ground FlaresEnclosed Ground Flares
Zero Smoke, Low Noise And No Visible Flame. John Zink's enclosed ground flare systems combust waste gases cleanly and efficiently by eliminating smoke and minimizing noise and visible flame from conventional flaring. Enclosed flares are customized to client specifications to achieve excellence in overall system performance using unique technologies such as JZHC fin plate burners and our proprietary fluidic wind fence design.

John Zink Demountable Flare StructuresDemountable Flare Structures
Maximum flexibility, minimum downtime. John Zink Hamworthy Combustion demountable flare structures offer incredible flexibility and efficiency. Their risers are designed to allow the flare to be lowered to grade for ease of service and inspection. This design concept offers enhanced flare maintenance and flexibility while minimizing the impact to plant operations.

John Zink Pressure-Assisted FlaresPressure-Assisted Flares
High performance, low radiation, and long tip life. John Zink's pressure-assisted flare systems safely deliver the highest smokeless capacities and lowest radiation of any pressure-assisted flare design. The Kaldair® Indair, JZ Hydra, Kaldair Multipoint Indair (KMI) and JZ Poseidon flare systems provide low radiation, quiet operation and unlimited turndown—making them the production industry’s most economical pressure-assisted flare choices. These proven designs produce short, smokeless flames with no assist medium, allowing use of shorter boom lengths and simpler mounting structures.

John Zink Air-Assisted FlaresAir-Assisted Flares
Cost-effective, smokeless flaring. Plants that require smokeless flares where steam is not preferred use John Zink's state-of-the-art, air-assisted flare systems for cost-effective, smokeless flaring.

Their long-lasting flares use a range of innovative techniques to optimize air-to-gas mixing and eliminate steam-energy costs. These innovative designs are used to optimize flaring performance from small, simple applications to large, complex designs and everything in between. Air-assisted flares can be used as a first-stage flare in multi-flare arrays designed to meet high capacity needs.

Their air-assisted flare solutions include: JZ LHLB™, AZDAIR™, SMART™ (refining and petrochemical only), JZ LH™, LHTS™, and LS™ (production only).

John Zink liquid flaresLiquid Flares
portable design, flexible operation, easy to deploy. John Zink pioneered the logical alternative to remote oil disposal with the Kaldair Condair™ liquid flare systems. Liquid flares eliminate the logistical headaches of shipping, trucking and storage, especially in hard-to-access locations on land, water and in arctic environments. We also developed our liquid flares with the clean-flaring advantages our customers expect, including minimum smoke, low radiation and low noise, and unique features for handling a wide variety of viscous fluids at high rates. Designs frequently include multiple flares on booms and use a water screen to minimize radiation during high flare rates.

Thermal Oxidizers

John Zink thermal oxidizersThermal Oxidizers
Proven leaders in thermal oxidation systems. John Zink's thermal oxidation team can help you reduce emissions of hazardous air pollutants (HAPs) and volatile organic compounds (VOCs) to comply with the most stringent environmental regulations. Their TO systems are ideal for a variety of applications including: gas or liquid waste, acid gas halogenated systems, NOx reduction technologies, sulfur recovery systems, and excessive particulates performance.

John Zink Catalytic OxidationCatalytic Oxidation
Reliable solvent mixture cleanup. KEU catalytic oxidation systems clean up all solvent mixtures, providing trouble-free oxidation of sulfur and chlorine compounds. John Zink systems offer volume flow and loading variations up to 75% of the maximum rating, with no formation of CO, NOx or Dioxine. Their stable, high-active and heat-resistant catalyst provides a service life of 30,000+ operating hours while compact designs, such as roof-mounted units, reduce space requirements.

John Zink Regenerative Thermal OxidizerRegenerative Thermal Oxidizer
Meeting stringent clean air standards. Regenerative Thermal Oxidizers (RTOs) are suitable for all hydrocarbon compounds. John Zink can design units to withstand corrosive pollutants if necessary, and also allow for recuperative heat recovery of heat produced in the reactor. For polymeric and sticky pollutants, the unit’s service life can be extended with on- or off-line burn-out.

The thermoreactor includes a reactor casing containing three or more heat exchanger sections. Depending on the intended process, ceramic heat transfer material heats the air to be treated up to a maximum of 40/50 °C below the actual reaction temperature.

John Zink TrueFire Pilot BurnerTrueFire™ Pilot Burner
TruFire: proven in the most severe conditions. TruFire™ electric ignition pilots have been proven in more than 100 installations and are designed to provide safe and reliable performance for thermal oxidizer and burner operation.

The TrueFire™ Pilot Burner:

  • Uses compressed air to provide 100% premixed fuel for improved stability in high-draft and pressurized applications
  • Safely retractable and removable from the burner even during burner operation (manual and pneumatic retraction)
  • Robust, stable flame ensures burner ignition and flame detection
  • Stainless steel construction to minimize corrosion and maximize service temperature

TruFire UltraFlex: high-heat release and maximum flexibility. Easy to install and able to reliably light in wet conditions, John Zink's TruFire™ UltraFlex pilot and burner provides reliable performance as both pilot ignition and a high-heat release option for overall system flexibility. Their innovative high-heat release gives clients the ability to fill the gap between burner turndown and typical output of the pilot, providing a better way to fine-tune your system’s performance. The TruFire pilot is made with stainless steel to minimize corrosion and its flexible design offers clients a choice of a fixed or retractable system. In addition, the system allows clients to add a sightport or even a scanner directly to the pilot for safe, reliable flame verification.

Due to its flexible heat release option, the TruFire UltraFlex can be used in a wide range of applications, including start-up burner, refractory cureout burner + burner pilot, gas / air preheater burner.
